Bands You Should Listen To: The Neighbourhood

With packed sets at this year’s Coachella and “Sweater Weather” playing on the radio every hour, it’s no wonder this alternative California (don’t let the spelling fool you) band is on this list. The dark, mysterious music led by singer Jesse Rutherford’s moody and sexy voice is a blend of indie rock and throwback jams with a hint of smooth hip hop. The detail-oriented lyrics really stick with you and make you wish you were on a midnight adventure with the brooding bad guy or gal you met last night.

Sounds Like: Radiohead, Portishead, The 1975, Atlas Genius

Gotta Listen To: How, Let It Go, Female Robbery

  1. Ghost Loft did a remix of “Let It Go” that I’m absolutely obsessed with. It’s how I discovered The Neightbourhood. I woud definitely check it out if you like them!
